PRESS RELEASE – For immediate release
Imogen Murray, 24 from Leicestershire, has claimed an emotional victory in the CCI** Le Grand Complet, Haras du Pin, France. Riding, the 10-year-old mare, Roheryn Ruby owned by Miss Fran Reeve and M.S Team, the pair finished on their 28.8 dressage to take the win ahead of a strong French contingent.
“It was a big ask for a horse at her current level of training and Imogen really helped bring the good side out of her and gave her the confidence that she needed” commented Roheryn Ruby’s owner Fran Reeve. “It was a bit of an emotional win for everyone that has been involved with Ruby’s career so far.”
Sitting in third place after dressage the British pair produced a quick and clear round across the country, finishing 20-seconds inside the optimum time. The challenging CCI** track proved light work as they maintained their third position going into the final phase. Jumping a clear round in the show jumping put the pressure on the two French riders ahead of them, who both added jumping faults to their final score.
“She was sensational!” confirmed Miss Murray. “I only had my first international win back in June and now I’ve picked up another one at 2-star level which is very exciting.”
Imogen picked up the ride on the Roheryn Ruby in 2016. Owned by an old Pony Trial friend, Miss Reeve had initially sold the mare but ended up buying her back when things didn’t go as planned. Since 2016 Murray has produced the mare from Novice level to CCI** level and will now look at stepping the 10-year-old up to Advanced level.
“We love coming out to Haras and it certainly seems to be a lucky venue for us. Ruby game me an incredible ride and just cruised round, so much so we caught the horse in front up in the water! Ivar Gooden also seems to be back on top form ahead of Burghley, jumping a very easy double clear in the 3* and I’m really pleased with SJL Convince Me in the CCI* who currently sits in 6th after the dressage, just with a little baby mistake.”
Paired with her 4* campaigner Ivar Gooden they rose 51 places in the CICO3* to finish 27th following a double jumping clear within the optimum time. 7-year-old SJL Convince me produced a very good dressage of 28.4 to sit in 6th place in the CCI* going into the cross-country phase.
